Conceived in 1974, the Calvert Trust, Keswick, was the first centre to pursue the ideal of the enrichment of the lives of all people with disabilities through adventure and personal achievement. The instructors and staff provide the professional help and expertise necessary to achieve these aims, and constantly strive to expand and improve the range of activities available to people with all manner of physical, sensory, motor and learning disabilities.
The Trust recognises, and respects the dignity of it's visitors and helps them achieve the level of attainment that they themselves wish to achhieve. It believes that no disability should exclude anyone from the enjoyment and fulfillment which should be present in the lives of all individuals, and focuses on ability rather than disability. |
