Cricket has been played at Keswick for over 100 years. The picturesque Cricket Club has a main ground situated in Lower Fitz Park and has three senior teams. A first eleven, a second eleven and a third eleven which retains it's name of Threlkeld. The majority of players who play for Keswick Cricket Club live in or around Keswick, though they also have a professional.
There is a recently built pavilion (1994) and within this pavilion a bar which was put in in the spring of 2000. There are three state of the art outdoor Astroturf net facilities, covers and sight screens and the ground is maintained by a grounds man.
The club also have another ground where the third team play in the neighboring village of Threlkeld. A new pavilion costing ?220,000 was built and opened on the 5th May 2002. |
