Keswick Half Marathon
The
Keswick half marathon is a road running event staged during the
Sunday of the May bank holiday. Often described as the most beautiful
half marathon in Britain (and even the World!) the route takes
you through two valleys and two villages. Anybody can enter this
popular event and many people do!
The route takes you from the Keswick Rugby Club at Davidson
Park, over the Portinscale footbridge and round to Stair in Newlands
valley. From Newlands, its a struggle up to Swinside and Cat Bells
but then downhill to Grange in Borrowdale. From Grange its back
along Borrowdale Road, past Lodore into Keswick and then the nightmare
(so I've been told!) the final lap of honour around the Rugby
club infront of the appreciative crowd!
Why not visit Keswick over this weekend and end up participating
in the Keswick half marathon, you won't regret it!
