You can also explore the Solway coast, Hadrian?s Wall or nip across the border to Dumfries and Galloway.
Each April the Osprey have been returning to their nesting place close to Ouse Bridge Hotel. They have been nesting here annually since 2001 and stay until September when they head south to spend the winter in Africa. There are view points close to the hotel.
